If you haven’t yet had your fill of teenagers getting gored while away at summer camp, Hemlock Circle has just the film for you. They’ve just released the trailer for their upcoming film Marshmallow, starring Ted and The Punisher lead Giorgia Whigham, yet another entry into what happens when you leave a group of kids more concerned with their own egos in charge of a bunch of twelve-year-olds. (The answer’s always bad, but especially when you stick them in the middle of the woods.)

The new trailer hits somewhere between Nightmare on Elm Street and Friday the 13th, as it tells the tale of a young boy plagued by nightmares who heads to summer camp, only to be terrorized by a figure from a fireside legend come to life, potentially from his own dreams. Without any way out, it's up to him to confront the being that might or might not be real.

Known only as “The Doctor” — no, not the one who runs around in a blue box, I promise — the monster stalks the members of the camp Jason Voorhees style, and the film is a clear homage to all those that came before it, particularly the ones that helped make the camp slasher such a bonafide staple of horror. According to the film’s logline, “Morgan and his newfound friends must embark on a perilous journey- one that will force them to confront their deepest fears and question the very nature of their existence.”

Directed by Daniel DelPurgatorio in his feature debut, Marshmallow also stars Alysia Reiner, Kai Cech, and Corbin Bernsen, with a script by Andy Greskoviak. But it isn’t the only summer camp slasher hitting theaters this year. 2025 also heralds the arrival of Hell of a Summer, directed by Stranger Things alum Finn Wolfhard and Billy Bryk, and starring Gladiator II and Thelma breakout star Fred Hechinger.

Marshmallow premieres in theaters on April 11. Check out the new trailer below:
