Oscar-winning makeup effects artist Howard Berger (Army of Darkness, Jennifer's Body, Kill Bill 1 & 2, Drag Me to Hell, The Chronicles of Narnia) joins Los Angele's Academy Museum of Motion Pictures to host a panel discussion exploring the incredible horror transformations makeup brings to the screen, and the women who help bring our favorite monsters to life.
Taking place on Saturday, June 7 at the Ted Mann Theater, the Women Behind the Makeup and Monsters conversation will feature leading female makeup artists in the industry including Eryn Krueger Mekash (The Fabelmans, The Prom, American Horror Story, Hillbilly Elegy), Gabi Gonzalez (Prosthetics Production Tech at KNB), and Academy Award winner Tami Lane (The Lord of the Rings: Return of the King, The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey, Interview with the Vampire series, The Final Destination, The Hills Have Eyes II).
It goes without saying that women's contributions to the world of horror are obviously incredibly important behind the camera as well as in front of it, so this event is sure to be a really enlightening and eye-opening one.
